“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?”
— Martin Luther King, Jr.

Community.

  • PR Committee, Chair

    2018 - Present

Volunteering with the HBEA (Historic Boston-Edison Association) has been one of the most rewarding community efforts I’ve ever been involved with. From leading neighborhood tours, to designing flyers and coding our website there are endless jobs to do when growing community and strengthening the bond among neighbors.

  • AdCon, Panelist & Moderator

    2017 - Present

Established on December 7, 1905, Adcraft Detroit is America's oldest and one of the largest and most respected advertising organizations in the country. Throughout the years I’ve worked w/ Adcraft’s AdCon committee to participate and moderate panels at AdCon, Detroit’s Premiere Student Career Conference. Panel topics have included: Emerging Media, Digital Media, and Agency-Client Integration.

In 2013 and 2014, I joined teams for “Hello:Detroit”, time and expertise to local businesses such as Detroit Maid and Flash Delivery with ad-hoc marketing needs.

  • PR / Marketing, Volunteer

    2012 - 2017

Following my passion in art + music I began volunteering time w/ the NCCU in 2012. At that time, work day activities at the Cass Corridor street fair, the Dally in the Alley mostly consisted of trash pickup. Later in 2015, as an N.C.C.U. trustee I served as Public Relations Chair. Serving in this role through 2017 on behalf of the NCCU I created and managed the @dallyinthealleydetroit Instagram page, sent various press releases to generate news, fielded press inquiries and led social media content creation and digital community management.

  • Community Moderator

    2010 - Present.

Since 2010 through contests, meetups and general engagement I’ve had a small part in helping to grow the r/Detroit subreddit from its mere 300 users when I signed up to where it is today: a thriving 100,000 member community.

  • Beautification Volunteer

  • Contributing Writer

    2018.

In early 2018 I was asked to write a piece for the GUIDED section within the pages of Grand Circus, Detroit’s culture journal. The contribution was featured online and included in Volume IV print edition.

    2019

In Summer 2019, I packed up my trusty F-stop lotus camera bag with a few empty SDs and some of my favorite lenses (canon to name a few…) and headed out to Detroit Start-Up Week. From dusk to dawn my responsibility would be to capture the day’s best moments. This included panels, podcasts and being DSW’s media presence at the opening of Ford’s Michigan Central Information Center in the Corktown neighborhood.
